installing expect-devel

I'm trying to install expect-devel-blah from the RH9 distro cd's.  When
I execute 'rpm-Uvh /blah/blah/expect-devel-blah', the terminal locks up.
I can't even terminate rpm via cntrl-C!  Installing expect went just
fine.

Ideas?
