The undercarriage is still very RedHat (not to mention the obvious, that
were talking about GNU/Linux) . Keep in mind that as company for profit,
Mandrake will still make a marketing distinction between its products and
those offered by RedHat. Regardless, with the exception of certain GUI
features, both distros hold more in common than not.

Mandrake was based on Red Hat Linux about 5 years ago but they've been
fairly separate for a LONG time.  That doesn't mean that they don't have
a lot of things in common, but they're quite dissimilar these days.
