sendmail Version 8.12.11 problem

hi all...

i recently upgraded an older version of sendmail on a redhat 7.1 to
Version 8.12.11..

no i noticed that whenever i try to send an email from th same machine i
get the message:
Unrecognized host name...

all the dns is set up fine - dig -t mx shows correct mx record and
nslookups and digs are all ok.
i looked around on line but all the suggestions i got are not my case...
