What does Memtest86 give you?  (www.memtest86.com)

My inclination is to say a hardware problem.  I might try with the 2 *
1Gb of RAM by itself, if you are just running a database, you should
be fine.  If you are worried you could tune down Oracle in your
init.ora file.  But isolate the RAM (assuming testing shows no
problems).
