cross-printing: LPRng to CUPS

Clues for the poor?
I've got a RH 7.3 system, with LPRng (and a user/fiancee who DOES NOT 
WANT ME to upgrade it, *sigh*), and my system's running CUPS. I've gone 
through a number of iterations of problems - client-whatever, no such 
queue, etc. I've tried enabling raw; I've tried setting lpd.conf on the 
LPRng box to port 631, and I've tried lp -d lp0@[IP]/631.

Suggestions?
