remote root login in RedHat EL v3.0

I probably shouldn't even answer this because it isn't the answer that you 
are looking for....not exactly anyway.
1.  Turn off telnet it is a very VERY insecure way to connect to a remote 
system.
2.  Turn on SSH and use SSH2 to connect instead of telnet.  It will be 
encrypted so (hopefully), nobody will be able to easily grab your login and 
password to hack your computer.
If you need to know where to get an client to use to connect via SSH, you 
can go to http://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/index.html to get 
Secure CRT.  There are many other programs out there, but this is the one 
that I use and I like it.  That doesn't mean it is any better or any worse 
than any other SSH Client.
