I have this happening intermittently with a Windows NT4 server talking 
to a Phaser 850 printer.  It may have first occurred when I switched the 
printer to a RH7.3 server, but I switched it back when there were other 
problems.  Fuji Xerox cannot find a solution, and we just live with it.  
I am near enough to hear it getting over-enthusiastic.

I don't think that is much help to you. :(
