Kernel 2.6 and Kernel 2.4

Hi Everybody, 
 
            I want to learn broad information about Kernel 2.6 and 2.4 .
Both of them are improving day by day. But Which Kernel I have to use for
production with fedora core 2.
Could you give me a link for better understanding .
