First of all, RH 8 is very out of date, if you are interested in RH can
buy the enterprise version or best choice for personal machine, you can
download Fedora Core or another free distribution.

Depends of the software that send the log, some applications is
internationalized and write logs in the specified language. System logs
normally will be displayed in english.
