sendmail hangs for many minutes during boot

I am embarrassed to ask this question. Because I
think, it has already been answered in this list.
Is there a way to access the previous questions like
this, so that we do not bother the experts for the
same question again and again.

The question is that during boot, the sendmail hangs
for many minutes. How can we avoid that?
