Extend / fs on redhat 2.1

I took the defaults on my installation of redhat 2.1 -

this is my first linux install - and the system assigned

almost all available space to /usr and /home with /

almost full . As a consequence I am running out of space

in /.

 

How is / filesystem extended ?
