Just getting back into Redhat after spending 2 years with Debian and I have
an issue. I just installed an RPM and I need to remove it, I run rpm -e
XXXXX.rpm and it says the RPM is not installed, I run rpm -q XXXXX and it
gives the program and version I just installed. If I try to do a rpm -i
XXXXX.rpm, it says it is already installed. I then try the rpm - e and it
still says it is not installed. I went into /var/lib/rpm and removed the
__db.* and ran --rebuilddb and it still gives the same issue.
I downloaded a newer version of the RPM (the correct version) and tried rpm
-U and this fails saying there is a conflict of files. I tried jjust
removing the files and even though they are gone, it still gives me the
conflict.
How can I remove this rpm and all files associated with it so that I can
install the correct RPM? Thanks in advance for any replys.
