I knew I should have explained myself better when I said that.

I cheat actually, we have a company version of ghost available to us.

It transfers to hard disk in practically one easy step and just works.

It's not free ware however, so may not suit what you want to do.

I've never used this particular approach myself, but assuming all partitions and files are intact, then running the Fedora disk in rescue mode and re-installing grub to the MBR should do it.
