Hi,
Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS/\m (Pensacola)
None of the vsftpd, ftpd, /etc/vsftpd in my system.
I have to reboot. And it's okay. Should be fixed without shutdown.
Thanks.

Hi Han Tin ,
In which version linux R U Used ?????
First U have see the ftp daemon is runing properly or no, If
it's not runing properly
then U have to start the FTP service command is # service vsftpd or ftpd
restart or start.
If stil ftp is not working then U have check vsftpd.conf file it is
stored in /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf . check it properly vsftpd.conf file .
After reconfiguring the vsftpd.conf file ftp is stil not working properly
then study the log ftp log file. If U could't understand what is exact
problem over there then U go for reinstall the ftp rpm. before installing
the ftp rpm U have to remove and new rpm is to be installed and restore the
old configuration
then start the ftp service and give it to the startup, as
your wish
then see the ftp service is working is not command is # service vsftpd
restart
regards
