Virous scanners Vs Red Hat 9.0

Hello All,
If I use Red Hat 9.0 as a squid Proxy server with two ethrenet cards, Do I
need to install any virous guard for linux. I heard that virous threads to
linux server are very low and I didnt hear any virous scanners for linux. So
is it a must to use virous scanner for linux. Pls let me know the current
situation regurding this?
