Missing timestamps in Apache error log for PHP errors

My RHES4 Apache2 error log doesn't give me timestamps on any PHP errors.

Since I see no one else complaining about this on the PHP list (and can't
get a response there), I'm wondering if it has to do with the particular Red
Hat configuration of Apache2 and PHP.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Is this considered "normal"? (What do your PHP errors look like?)

Is there a way to correct it?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
