yes. As long as your dependencies *are* in external yum repos.
yum localinstall mypackage-1.0-2.i386.rpm
will look for any required dependencies on external yum repositories.
this works fine on Fedora Core 4 and 5 (and probably Centos as well, as
they use yum for updates)
