df -h gives you information on filesystems, which can either be  
smaller than the physical hard drive, or larger than the physical  
hard drive (LVM).  The OP probably didn't have his path setup  
correctly to give him access to fdisk.

Just checked, and if you just su, fdisk isn't in the path.  If you su  
-, fdisk is in the path.
