can't use sudo

Yup you're right, when I use my user password I get:
"[user] is not in the sudoers file.  This incident will be reported."

I think that you may need to edit your sudoers file with visudo in order
to give your regular userid perms to do what you need to do; most people
do stuff like this using the wheel group....

My root password will not take with sudo, however I can always su with
no problems.

 

$ sudo vi /etc/crontab

Password:

Sorry, try again.

 

I'm using SecureCRT to SSH in, and KeePass to copy/paste my root
password.
