The primary cause for mail not delivered to a local mailbox is the /etc/hosts file. make sure that it contains the following: 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain yourhostname yourhostname.yourdomainname restart sendmail and watch the q empty itself (check with "mailq")
