fd3 won't boot after changing display resolution

Booting off the CD, and typing "linux rescue" will get you back into the
system....

Does the "cannot display video mode" appear during boot? Or when the system
attempts to start X?
If it's during starting X, you can go into /mnt/sysimage/etc/inittab and
change init level to 3.

The line should read "id:5:initdefault:" now, just change the 5 to 3.

Then you can at least normally boot the machine. Once your in, try typing X
-configure, and that will attempt to auto-probe your hardware, and generate
a new X configuration. Follow the prompts to test it. If it works, copy
~/xorg.conf to /etc/X11/

Thanks,

Subject: fd3 won't boot after changing display resolution

Sorry about previous post. I realized I didn't change the subject after
I already sent the post. I am also thinking that since the motherboard
is new, do I need to reinstall the driver for the video card? If so,
how can I do this if I can't even boot the machine? The driver is on a
different machine on our network. Below is my previous post that will
explain exactly what is wrong.
