 make the target (the .so I presume) depend on the
 files it needs compiled. E.g. if the main/default
 make target is "all"
=======
all: file1.o file2.o
        linkLibrary file1.o file2.o

file1.o: file1.c
        compile file1.c

...
=======

 Use "info make" for more detail/info.
