MySQL install problems

I've installed the RHEL mysql rpms using up2date and for some reason
there's no service start script in /etc/init.d and running 'service
mysql(d) start' complains about 'unrecognized service'.  I've never seen
this with RH rpms before, is there something I'm missing?
