That will work, but you will end up with the destination being exactly
the same size as the source.  If you are trying to move it to a larger
partition, you will have defeated the purpose.

Wayner's suggestion is the same method I recently used to accomplish the
same task and it did indeed work.  DD took me down the garden path.
