How to compile programs using an older version of the glibc libraries

I am attempting to compile some programs on a Red Hat server that were
originally certifed against glibc 2.2.2-10 on RedHat 7.1

My current server has the following configuration:

	Cat /etc/redhat-release
	Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 6)

	rpm -q glibc
	glibc-2.3.2-95.37

Is there a way I can compile my programs using the older glibc 2.2.2-10
libraries?  Is it possible/relalistic to expect that I could temporarily
'downgrade' the glibc libraries so I can compile these programs, and then
re-install the glibc-2.3.2-95.37 libraries.
