fds for oracle authentication?

Were running fedora directory server in our environment; it's running
great, however I was wondering if it's possible to use the directory
servers to authenticate Oracle database users against?  I know that
Oracle has an application called Oracle Internet Directory server,
however I would rather not put up yet another directory server.  Any
thoughts?  Thanks very much.
