Oracle on RHEL4 with ASM problem

I get the same error Jack, Block device required. 

$ service rawdevice status
/dev/raw/raw1:  bound to major 8, minor 240

$ ll /dev/raw
crw-rw----  1 oracle oinstall 162, 1 May  8 13:23 raw1

$ cat /etc/sysconfig/rawdevices
/dev/raw/raw1   /dev/sdp
