mgetty problem

I can't really remember again what I did when I configured mgetty but I
would suggest that you take a look at the modem and the string it is
passing, what each mean, then that would give you an idea as to what to
look at.
Or you could do a test with minicom and pass the argument by hand, in
other to find out if it is the modem or mgetty it self. If it is mgetty
you might have to reinstall the program
Best regards

Subject: mgetty problem
Trying to use an application to communicate using /dev/ttyS0 as the
device, my entry in /etc/inittab says: S0:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -x 5
ttyS0 And here's a pertinent portion of the log file:
05/16 17:43:09 yS0 mdm_gis: string 1: 'USRobotics Courier
V.Everything'
05/16 17:43:09 yS0 additional info: 'USRobotics Courier V.Everything'
05/16 17:43:09 yS0 modem quirks: 0080 05/16 17:43:09 yS0 mdm_send:

05/16 17:43:09 yS0 mdm_command: string 'OK' -> OK
05/16 17:43:09 yS0 waiting for line to clear (VTIME=3), read:
05/16 17:43:10 yS0 removing lock file
05/16 17:43:10 yS0 waiting...
And it just stalls. Any ideas where I could look into first? Thanks in
advance.
