You should partition the new disk in the same way as the failed disk
before adding the new disk to RAID.
You can add the replaced disk to RAID using 'raidhotadd' command. The
syntax is:
raidhotadd <raid_device> <disk_partition>
Where <raid_device> is the array which should contain the new (replaced)
disk and <disk_partition> is the partition on the new disk which should
become the part of array.
This command will add new disk to RAID and rebuild the array, writing
necessary information to the new disk. You can monitor the progress of
array rebuilding in the file /etc/mdstat (e.g with the 'cat
/proc/mdstat').
