ADS authenentication & Samba/Winbind

To cut to the chase, it appears I have mis-configured something on my  
64-bit machine config on that makes getpwnam fail on the 64-bit machine for 
users loggin on from the domain (localdomain\username).  getpwnam succedes 
and finds the user in the ADS for the 32-bit machine.
