delay after ssh'ing into a server

Hi,
You should have a look at your authentication configuration. May be your
system is attemting to authenticate through LDAP or SAMBA before trying
a local authentication. And it is getting timeouts for those attempts.
Have a look at your /etc/ldap.conf or /etc/openldap/ldap.conf
