help regarding libusb

Hi,
I work on smartcards.I am not able to install pcsc-lite(pre-requisite for
smartcard reader)on redat 7.I get the following error displayed when I try
to install:
 checking for usb_get_string_simple... configure: error: your libusb is too
old. install version 0.1.7 or above
I kept my system for updates for one day and when I
install(libusb#1.8.3) and run the program,I get the same error again.What do
I do?
