Re: problems with tape drive



Got it fixed. We checked to make it was plugged in and that the card was seated properly. While we didn't see anything wrong there, apparently there was, because when we rebooted it all works.

That sounds as if the tape drive were not switched on or not correctly connected. Check cabling? Bent pins? (No joke, took me a couple of weeks to find a partially
broken PIN).

Any messages in the kernel log?
