ntpq -p will show u details

for time server it will show  * symbol in from of server name . and local
from client.

Use "ntpq -p" (it's in /usr/sbin).  It'll give you a list of
configured time sources.

Logs through syslog to /var/log/messages.  Just "grep ntpd
/var/log/messages".
