Hi Padiyath,

Make sure you don't have a firewall in place on your desktop. If you
have the default FW, it is blocking tcp:6000. Take it down, at least
temporarily (iptables -F INPUT) and try again.

Also try 'X -query linuxxx', check if it shows things ok.
