Problem with Profiling

hello all ,
   
  i am facing peoblem when i am compiling my c programe with Profiling enable option
  -p  or -pg  . It giving me the following error 
   
  /usr/bin/ld gcrt1.o :No such file : No such file or directory
  Collect2 : ld returned 1 exit status
   
   
  Please suggest me the possible solution to fix this error.
