Hi Techies,

I got HP proliant server installed with RAID 5 and Red Hat 8.0.
Today while making tar file of all the partitions the following
message appeared and server hanged there and even i cant login on other
consoles also.
Server was on the network as it can be ping from clients but
ftp, telnet or ssh are not responding. Then I have to restart the server abnormally.

"Uhhuh. NMI received. Dazed and confused, but trying to continue.
You probably have a hardware problem with your RAM chips."

        Please give solution.

        Thanks in advance.

  Pankaj Batra.

Andrew,

You should be able to pre-pend "gksu" to the command

To achieve to objective of the OP, once the diskn.iso files have been
created, download ftp://people.redhat.com/ckloiber/mkdvdiso.sh and and
run the script. This takes care of all the messy loop mounting and
hopefully eliminates the confusion. End result is a ready-to-burn DVD
iso file.

Normally java installs within /usr/java so you can always look into
there. If you have a developer's kit, it includes the JRE. For example, my
RHEL4 box has everything within /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_03, for the 1.6 update 3
Java developer kit. The JRE files are within a jre subdirectory there.

Generate a random password? And how will you know what it is to tell the user?
And how many users are you adding at once? I've never added more than one or
two at a time, and my standard new user is set up with a password that is
*required* to be changed at first login... and I give them all the same:
changeme.

Hi

I've just set up a new ldap slave server, and all working ok except that
slurpd is causing the load average to shoot up and is chewing on loads of
COU cycles (although in fact, is doing very little!)

Anybody seen something like this before?

John
