I do exactly this for a bunch of boxes. Use kickstart to build machine and post section to setup printer. If you want more info, let me know and Ill send out the details.

greetings list. o/s: rhel 4.
i have four printers accessible from lpr that i want to setup on 16
linux boxes without the need of going to each machine to do so. i set
one machine up remotely (system-config-printer) and noticed that the
workstation name is placed in some of the (cups) config files.
i could write a script to handle this but wanted to know if there was
something already packaged or a procedure well accepted to handle this
routine task. the boxes may need to be re-cloned many times within a
year which is why im searching for automation, so far ive made the
systems simple enough to do nothing more than a ghost image dump and
power on to configure and connect to file server and rhn for updates.
thanks in advance for helpful advice.
