USB devices on RHES 5.1 not detected

Hi,

Just to add a little info on what I've seen in /var/log/messages
when a thumb drive is inserted :

June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: SCSI device sdj: 999424 512 byte (512Mb) -
yes, my thumb
                                                            drive is 512Mb
June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: sdj: write protect is off
June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: assuming drive cache write through
June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: sdj: sdl
June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: attached SCSI removable disk sdj
June 13 17:23 slalnx13 kernel: attached SCSI sg13 type 0

When I did "mount -t usbfs /dev/sdj /usb",
found under /usb, following files/folders though
my thumb drive is supposed to contain other files :
 001
 002
 ...
 005
 devices
