Not really,

Because the images are not in a partition, They are files.
For example I have this:
disk = [ "tap:aio:/home/images/NODE1.img,xvda,w" ]

perhaps doing:
 dd if=/home/images/NODE1.img of=/backup/xen-backup-image.img bs=1M

will work?
