VSFTPD

Hello all,
              i have configured vsftpd on rhel5.i create mp3 name directory
in /var/ftp/mp3.
permission chmod 770 /var/ftp/mp3 and chgrp ftp /var/ftp/mp3.
when i try to login from *anonymous
**anonymous*  can login he can change the directory like cd mp3 but it cant
run ls command there.
any particular  reason behind this??
