<0> kernel panic not syncing fatal exception

Hi,

I'm not able to boot my RHEL 5.2 . This is on laptop and was working fine. I recently switched off sendmail in run level 5 (as it was taking some time during boot.). 

Problem is: It just hangs when I boot normally. The error in the subject is displayed when I enter in to run level 1 from boot menu. 

Any pointers would be appreciated.
