Linux is great for lots of thing,
but for mail (specially all the features, calendar, contacts, drag and
drop emails to calendar) exchange is still lot better. 
My 2 cents..

Zimbra handles all of that, with Thunderbird, Outlook, and their web
client. We have had no feature loss switching to Zimbra.
