I happened to forget a word, which I often do. I wanted to state "querying
the policy to GET the MLS label of the client"

When a client is not talking with a trusted "label aware" networking such as
IPSEC or CIPSO, the MLS label of the connection would be determined from the
MLS label attached the matching node rule for the client in the policy.
