DHCP on Aliase eth0

Just barging in this discussion.

make a virtual ip suited in a vlan and configure this vlan also on the  
switch side.

then it will work, done this for a company with 1000+ voip devices.  
(on 1 ethernet)
But it requires good network and linux knowledge to make it work.

But it is doable
