I doubt Red Hat has much interest in keeping PowerPC as a supported platform in the upcoming RHEL6 rlease.  I believe they already dropped the Itanium.

Why not support the PowerPC? See this article from the recent Linux Week News Distributions page which gives a good overview of the status of the PowerPC among distro makers. The article is currently a premium content item but will be released freely next Thursday.  Until that time, enjoy the content with a subscriber link.  I've been a paying LWN subscriber since they went to the subscription model years ago and highly recommend it.
