Network not recognized; did the ifconfig -a; eth0 shows up also virbr0 ethernet ? shows up; nothing on the system or utilities menus allow changing anything on the network and nothing shows up to modify.

2. Modem doesn't show up; the modem is a USRobotics 56k fax modem, used on all our systems. Motherboard is ASUS A8V-VM, kind of old, but it is a test system, processor is 64 AMD, 2GB main memory, 160GB Hd.

3. I created the new group 'platinum' and users 'platinum' and 'rarchon' as I have done in FC12, can't log into any user except one created immediatly after installing the system user was 'john'. Both 'platinum' user and 'rarchon' user were supposed to be members of group 'platinum' rarchon in particular still thinks 'rarchon' is its primary group.

4. There is no x --configure and the display program available are a basic 800x600 or 600x400 not what the system was obviously capable.

5. Sill don't have any idea of where the setup for mgetty ppp0, is ; it used to be in inittab

I should probably mention that all this was done under KDE. Also I called dolphin from the command prompt, after doing a su- to check out files that of course can't be seen normally, anyway during the process I exited from dolphin and the screen changed to Gnome by itself.. I then changed users and the screen went back to KDE, interesting.

I want to thank Nicko Kadel-Garcia for the great response to my post, when anyone asks 'why select Red Hat', the response I got to my questions is the reason. Thank you again.

John

</john@mbstemps.com></aanlktim9jj2jv=vo7jubbue5ag17utxfhhxan2cszona@mail.gmail.com></rhelv6-beta-list@redhat.com></nkadel@gmail.com></https:></w3681122289150011280637313@webmail40>
