When I rebooted at the end of the installation, I noticed several errors roll off the top of the screen.<o:p></o:p> I waited for the bootup to finish. After 15 minutes I rebooted and brought the system up in single mode.<o:p></o:p> When I got to the prompt, I issued a service network start command.<o:p></o:p> One of the messages on the screen was no file/directory found for /var/run/subsys.<o:p></o:p> Sure enough there was nothing under /var, empty directory so I created the run/subsys part.<o:p></o:p> Tried to run there was several other commands not found “no file or directory found”.<o:p></o:p> Tried to look at the fstab, no less command. Checked the /usr directory, no bin directory.<o:p></o:p> Tried to umount the filesystems to check to see if they were there, no luck.<o:p></o:p> Filesystem in use, commented the mount of /usr out, and the /usr directory had no bin directory. <o:p></o:p> I did a mkdir to create one, rebooted system no luck, a bunch of other missing files and directories.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I just at that point, rebuilt the system, left the default for the filesystem, and all worked for the most part,<o:p></o:p> The /var/ and /usr/bin directories are there and have files in them.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> After playing around for a while, I ended up with the following:<o:p></o:p> If using /var and /usr as separate filesystems, it will fail.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Should I open a bz or any ideas?<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Thanks<o:p></o:p> <div> Thomas Mackell<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> </div> <o:p> </o:p> </div> </body> </html>
