[rhelv6-list] why do errata and package updates fail?

Hello,

I am managing only one system (for scientific work). It is subscribed
to the workstation channel (including the workstation supplementary
and optional).

In my daily email updates, I see that (about 50%) of the errata and
package updates fail. Is that a sign of some problem?

For example, I went to the red hat site, and scheduled to update all
the errata. But two thirds of them failed:

Errata Update: RHBA-2012:1195-1 - openssl bug fix update 10/8/12
1:45:57 PM EDT 0 1 0 1
Errata Update: RHSA-2012:1261-1 - Moderate: dbus security update
10/8/12 1:45:57 PM EDT 0 1 0 1
Errata Update: RHBA-2012:1285-1 - cups bug fix update 10/8/12
1:45:57 PM EDT 0 1 0 1
Errata Update: RHSA-2012:1288-1 - Moderate: libxml2 security update
10/8/12 1:45:57 PM EDT 0 1 0 1
  Errata Update: RHBA-2012:1294-1 - krb5 bug fix update 10/8/12
1:45:57 PM EDT 0 1 0 1
Errata Update: RHBA-2012:1337-1 - systemtap bug fix update

I did not reboot my system in the past several weeks. Could that be
the cause? Maybe these errata can be applied only after the previous
one take effect?

TIA

Mirko
