I would use the phrase "yum updates being 'discrete'" or "yum updates
being 'atomic'" (instead of the word 'stable', which suggests another
issue).

Again, if you are in the Western Hemisphere, the
sync/release/announcement should work well if you update during lunch.
 If you update weekly, then make Thursday noon'ish your aim-point.  If
you are not, then offset appropriately.

But just to agree with this, among other posters, if you're looking
for 100% discrete/atomic updates at any single second over the
Internet, then your expectations will always fail with any software
distribution (Red Hat or not).  It doesn't matter what your chosen
solution is (RHN Satellite Server, YUM reposync, etc...), there are
reasons why all enterprises utilize a solution to deal with this
reality.
